Footnotes Travel is a small business run by me, Terry VanDuyn. This page explains what happens to the information you share on footnotestravel.com.
What I Collect
When you sign up for launch announcements and updates about new guides, I collect:
- Your email address
- The date you signed up
- Which signup form you used (top or bottom of the page)
I don't ask for your name or any other personal details.
How I Use It
I use your email address to tell you when Footnotes launches and when new guides are ready. I won't sell, rent or trade it, and I won't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Where It's Stored
Signups are saved in a Google Sheet in my Google Workspace account. I'm the only person at Footnotes with access to the sheet. Google provides the storage and related services. When I email you, the email may be sent through an email delivery service, which handles your address only to deliver the message.
How Long I Keep It
I keep your email address while you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, I remove it from my active mailing list.
Cookies and Tracking
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
Two outside services are involved in loading the page. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, and GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. The fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google when the page loads. Their handling of that data is covered by the GitHub Privacy Statement and the Google Privacy Policy.
Because the site doesn't track you, it doesn't change how it works in response to "Do Not Track" browser settings.
Unsubscribing and Your Choices
Every email I send will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also email me at terry@footnotestravel.com at any time to unsubscribe, see what I have on file for you, correct it, or have it deleted. I'll take care of it promptly.
Children
I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If I learn that I have, I'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If I change this policy, I'll update this page and the date at the top. I'll notify subscribers of material changes and ask for consent when required.
